Xtreme Endurance 12K Challenge

Get ready to go beyond the Ordinary Trail Run! This course is a grueling trail run that begins at the Battle Skills Training Area and makes its way through the beautiful wooded trails around Henderson Pond. This trail is used by both mountain bikes and runners. Your endurance and agility will be tested as you battle its varied terrain and natural surfaces. Can you conquer our terrain?

Installation Access: Deadline to submit information is January 12, 2022. No additional event passes will be issued past the deadline. Once approved, your pass(es) will be available for pick up at the Visitor’s Gate the morning of the race. The pass is only good for the day of the event. Registered runners will receive more information on how to receive the pass(es) the week prior to the race.

St. Paddy's Engineer 5 Mile Challenge

The course was designed for Marines by Marines. As its name implies, it is a race that will test your strength and determination! The course includes a variety of obstacles and mud pits that will challenge your physical and mental endurance.

Refunds: The 2022 St. Paddy Engineer 5 Mile Challenge + is a rain or shine event. No refunds will be issued for those not able to attend the event. Mud, Sweat & Tears 4+ Mile Mud Run

The Mud, Sweat & Tears 4+ Mile Mud Run is an off-road course that includes forest terrain, winding trails, fallen tree obstacles, and mud! For over 4 miles, this tough race will test your strength, stamina, and endurance. Marines pride themselves on physical superiority and mental toughness so be forewarned – you will be challenged!

Marine Corps Half Marathon

The Marine Corps Half Marathon is steeped in tradition. Hosted by MCCS Lejeune-New River Semper Fit, the Marine Corps Half Marathon provides runners the honor of running aboard the majestic Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Runners will experience a flat scenic course beginning at the Wallace Creek Fitness Center. Along the course, runners will take a personal “tour” of the base, passing notable sites such as the beautiful waters of the New River, Morgan Bay, and Farnell Bay; the Paradise Point Golf Course where the Heroes Mile will be on display; and neighborhood communities before completing their journey back at Wallace Creek Fitness Center.

Installation Access
*ALL RUNNERS AND ALL PASSENGERS (18YRS AND OVER) NEEDING A BASE PASS must complete the instructions below AFTER race registration has been completed.
Due to our race being held aboard an active Marine Corps installation, unless you are riding in the same vehicle with a driver who has a valid DoD ID with base access, all runners and spectators who do not currently possess a valid DoD ID with credentialed base access will need to obtain an Event Base Access Pass. We have worked with our Provost Marshall's Office to make this process as easy as possible.
- Register for a base pass at https://www1.mcieast.usmc.mil/IARA/
- Locate the event and select "Request Sponsor".
- Agree to the Privacy Act Statement.
- Select the Visitor Type drop down menu and choose either driver or passenger. A registration form must be completed for all drivers and passengers.
- Complete the registration. Please have the following information available:
a. Drivers: Social Security number, DOB, email, phone number, driver's license, auto insurance policy, and auto information.
b. Passengers: Social Security number, DOB, government ID, email, and phone number.
Deadline to submit information is 30 days prior to the event date. No additional event passes will be issued past this date. Once approved, your pass(es) will be available for pick up at the Visitor's Gate the morning of the race. The pass is only good for the day of the event. Training Tips
Your specific approach to half-marathon training will depend on multiple variables:
- Time available to train
- Running background (novice vs. experienced runner)
- Current fitness level and mileage
- Willingness to commit to a training plan
- Ability to learn and listen to your body
