HQMC Seeks Nominations for Annual DoD SAPR and Excellence in Primary Prevention Awards
Headquarters Marine Corps seeks nominations for the annual Department of Defense (DoD) Liz Blanc Exceptional Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), Liz Blanc Exceptional Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate (VA), and the Excellence in Primary Prevention awards. Each year, DoD SAPRO recognizes individuals, both military and civilian, from each service for their work in advancing the primary prevention of sexual assault.
These awards recognize those who have demonstrated significant prevention and advocacy efforts leading to measurable outcomes or positive changes within their sphere of influence. Policies, programs, or practices—completed or underway—at any level of the organization are eligible activities. Efforts to build collaborations and partnerships are highly encouraged as well.
Commands, Sexual Assault Response Coordinators, and Primary Prevention stakeholders are encouraged to nominate a Marine, civilian, or group, who made significant contributions to sexual assault response efforts (SARC and SAPR VA of the Year) or primary prevention efforts (Excellence in Primary Prevention). The performance period for these awards is January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023.
Criteria for the awards and completed nominations should be submitted online at: https://usmc.sharepoint-mil.us/sites/dcmra_family_mfc/SitePages/home.aspx.
