"Catch My Breath" is a prevention program designed to educate about the dangers of vaping and empower individuals to make healthy choices. This brief highlights the harmful effects of vaping, including nicotine addiction, impaired lung function, and decreased physical readiness, all of which can jeopardize military performance and overall wellbeing. Through interactive training, the program equips service members with the tools to resist social pressures and make informed decisions. By raising awareness and fostering a culture of health, "Catch My Breath" aims to ensure a strong, fit, and mission-ready force.

This curriculum empowers commanding officers to deliver interactive substance abuse training at the unit level, facilitated by certified PFL trainers from the Substance Abuse Counseling Program (SACP). The program focuses on promoting “low risk” decision-making related to alcohol consumption, helping service members develop healthier drinking habits. It enhances self-assessment skills by raising awareness of alcohol misuse and abuse, while also providing practical coping strategies to support sound decision-making in high-risk situations. Ultimately, the training fosters a proactive approach to maintaining personal responsibility, improving unit cohesion, and ensuring overall readiness.
