Make this October your month of new experiences!

Sober(er) October encourages you to try activities that keep you active and involved, focus on drinking less, and remain drug free, while building a stronger, more resilient community.


 

Discover new adventures, enjoy FREE MCCS activities, and make every moment count with healthy choices!
There are plenty of ways to make the most of Sober(er) October, whether you want to try a hands-on activity, learn a new skill, or join one of our scheduled events:
  • Attend FREE MCCS recreational activities (listed below, available while supplies last) anytime during the month of October.
  • Check out our calendar of FREE featured events for special classes, workshops, and unique experiences.
Every activity counts toward your prize entries, so dive in and make each day a chance to try something new!

 

How It Works

  • Attend a listed FREE Sober(er) October activity (available while supplies last)
  • Ask for the special using the keyword Sober(er) October
  • Staff will get you started and provide a QR code for the prize drawing.
  • Scan and submit the quick form (name, contact info, unit)
  • Earn a chance to win! Each verified activity counts as one entry for the $100 gift card drawing.
  • Unit challenge: the unit with the most entries wins $500.
 

Eligibility

  • All authorized patrons 18 and older may enter to win a gift card.
  • Activities are open to all authorized patrons, subject to any age guidelines set by the facility.

Paradise Point Golf Course
  • Up to 18 holes, including greens fee, club rental, and cart
  • 30-minute golf lesson (must be scheduled in advance)
 
Marinas - Watercraft Rentals
Available at Gottschalk Marina, Camp Lejeune, and MCAS New River Marina

  • Skeet – Shotgun rental, ammunition, eye/ear protection, clay targets (McIntyre-Parks Recreational Shooting Complex, Camp Lejeune)
