End of FY2022 TA Money

The authorization date of a tuition assistance (TA) request determines the chargeable FY. A course that begins in one FY and ends in the next FY will be charged to the FY in which the course commenced. All courses, regardless of length, must be funded up-front with military TA. The authority to expend funds for the TA program is derived from the recurring provisions of the annual Department of Defense Appropriations Act. Military TA funding is shut off approximately two to three weeks before the end of the FY.

Any Marine who would like TA for a course that has a start date between September 15, 2022 and September 30, 2022 must have their webTA application requests submitted AND command approved prior to COB on September 13, 2022. This will allow the Education Center to complete any pending requests for FY22 TA funding before the shut off date of September 15, 2022 (Close of Business). Per HQMC there are no exceptions to this policy! No military TA will be approved between September 15th and September 30th.

For questions, please contact the Education Center at 910-451-3091, 910-451-2540, 910-449-6623, or 910-449-5397.

webTA is the process that allows qualified Marines to use paperless technology to efficiently request Tuition Assistance.
