Did you know that MCCS is made up of several programs that are designed to support Marines, Sailors, and their families in all aspects of military life? To help you take advantage of the all the programs available, MCCS has put together a comprehensive guide for all the programs dedicated to you.

Behavioral Health

 
Behavioral Health encompasses multiple subdivisions including the following:
  • The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) includes Victim Advocacy, the New Parent Support Program, and Prevention & Education. The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is a multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary resource that is designed to address child abuse and domestic abuse within the Marine Corps community through prevention, intervention, and treatment. For immediate assistance, the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233) provides lifesaving tools and support to enable victims to find safety and live lives free of abuse.
 
A few workshops hosted by Behavioral Health include Co-Parenting: Putting Kids First, Warrior Maintenance: Stress Management, Fair Fighting, Triple P: Positive Parenting Teens, and more. For more information, visit FAP's Eventbrite.
 
  • The Substance Abuse Counseling Center (SACC) provides alcohol and drug abuse prevention and services to active duty service members and their families and consists of two sections: Prevention and Clinical.
  • The Community Counseling Center (CCC) offers counseling services by licensed and credentialed professionals that work on meeting patrons' needs regarding communication, stress, anger, family problems/dynamics, adjustment issues, self-esteem, grief/loss, and parenting. The CCC includes the Marine Intercept Program (a suicide prevention program), the Seeking Safety Group, which teaches safe coping skills for individuals who have experienced trauma and/or substance abuse.
  • Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) strives to eliminate incidents of sexual assault by focusing on awareness, prevention, training and education, reporting, victim advocacy, and response.

Family Care

Within Family Care is the Child and Youth Program (CYP), Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB), Family Readiness Partnership, School Liaison Program, and Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP).

The CYP program incorporates the Child Development Center, Youth Programs, and Youth Sports.

Marine Corps Family Team Building

 
Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) offers workshops and training sessions that aim to foster readiness and resiliency to Marines and their families. MCFTB is comprised of 6 different programs:
  • Lifestyles, Insights, Networking, Knowledge, Skills (L.I.N.K.S.)
  • Family Readiness Program Training (FRPT)
  • Life Skills Training
  • Readiness and Deployment Support Training (RDST)
  • Kids and Teen Program
  • Volunteer Coordination
 
A few workshops and events offered by MCFTB include L.I.N.K.S. Craft and Learn, Kids Night Out, F.I.N.D.E.R.S. 4 Kids, Leading Positive Change: The Happiness Advantage, Intro to Anger Management, Babysitting Certification Course, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, 5 Love Languages for Couples, etc. For more information, visit MCFTB's Eventbrite.

Exceptional Family Member Program

 
The Marine Corps Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory program, MCO 1754.4C, for Marines with family members with exceptional needs. The family member must be enrolled in DEERS/MCTFS and reside with the sponsor (exceptions include geographical bachelors and family members receiving inpatient care or living in an educational setting).
 
A few workshops provided by EFMP include Special Education Workshop Series which includes workshops on Crafting IEP Goals, IEP Assessments, Addressing Behavior Challenges, and Tactics and Strategies for IEP Meetings, Managing Deployments and Early Intervention Workshop. Personal & Professional Development (P&PD)

Transition Readiness Program

The Transition Readiness Program offers information and assistance to aid military service members, retirees, veterans, DoD civilian employees and their family members as they transition from a military to civilian lifestyle and beyond.
 
A few workshops offered by this division include Resume 101, VA Benefits 101, DoD Skillbridge, Money Talk with Jo (free coffee, snacks, and talk about finances), 10 Steps to a Federal Job, in addition to several mandatory trainings such as PCS Relocation and Welcome Aboard. Semper Fit

 
Beyond the 5 fitness facilities that fall under Semper Fit and the group exercise classes they offer, the Semper Fit program also includes Intramural Sports, and Human Performance. For more information on the Intramural sports available this summer and fall, visit our blog post.
 
 
Human Performance also provides a number of resources designed to better individuals through nutrition, sleep, or fitness. A few of these resources include:
  • Performance Nutrition Class
  • Sleep and Recovery Class

  • Metabolism Testing
