Conduct Initial Counseling (IC) no later than 365 days from your EAS:

Contact your UTC to schedule your IC Appointment:

• Present completed pre-work to your UTC.
• Obtain the Transition 365 Checklist from your UTC.

Attend your IC appointment: During IC you will discuss your transition plan and determine your TRS requirements, TIER assignment, and track (if required).

• For in-person IC: Bring the checklist and the self-assessment/individual transition plan with you to your IC appointment.
• For virtual IC: Email your checklist and self-assessment/transition plan to your assigned advisor prior to your scheduled appointment. Your advisor will provide you with proof of completion via email upon completing IC.

Attend Pre-Separation Counseling no later than 365 days prior to EAS:

Your advisor will schedule you for the Pre-Separation Counseling during your IC appointment.

Pre-Separation Counseling is conducted in-person at New River and virtually via Adobe Connect.

Attend Pre-Separation Counseling: During Pre-Separation Counseling, you will receive information to include benefits, entitlements and resources for eligible transitioning service members.

• For in-person Pre-Separation Counseling: Bring your checklist with you to Pre-Separation Counseling.
• For virtual Pre-Separation Counseling: Your advisor will send you an email with a link to join the class. Your advisor will provide you with proof of completion via email upon completing Pre-Separation Counseling.

Attend the Transition Readiness Seminar (including Retirement & ETRS) no later than 180 days prior to EAS: You CANNOT BE REGISTERED for TRS without completing IC and Pre-Separation Counseling first.

Contact your UTC to schedule TRS/Retirement/ETRS:

• Present confirmation of completion for IC and Pre-Separation Counseling to your UTC (your stamped checklist or email confirmation).
• Your UTC will schedule you for the TRS, Retirement or ETRS and your track. NOTE: If you were assessed as TIER 3 during your IC you must attend a track. Regardless of TIER, you may elect to enroll in one or more tracks. Your UTC will register you for each track.

Attend TRS/Retirement/ETRS:

• Service members completing TRS & Tracks via Adobe Connect will receive an email confirmation from the TRB Advisor with a link to join the class 5 days before start date.
