CYP Employee Awarded The Irving Rubenstein Memorial Award

The Irving Rubenstein Memorial Award for the Marine Corps was awarded to Ms. Sarah Williams, R.N., Child and Youth Program (CYP) Compliance Coordinator, MCCS Lejeune-New River. Ms. Williams was recognized for her outstanding leadership of the health, safety and nutrition initiatives of the CYP, including during the pandemic when intense contact tracing and mitigation efforts were necessary to reduce transmission among staff and children.  These efforts were instrumental in the sustainment of daily operations to support of the mission of the United States Marine Corps, and her models were heralded to a number of schools, colleges, and universities throughout eastern North Carolina as a model for operations.  Her calm leadership under pressure and immense contributions to CYP demonstrated her worthiness of this award. The Irving Rubenstein Memorial Award recognizes one MWR/Services professional from each of the five branches of the Armed Forces who has been in an MWR/Services management position for less than two years. Winners of the Irving Rubenstein Memorial Award display exceptional management and leadership skills, achieve particularly outstanding performance results in their respective programs, and possess great potential for continued success in military MWR/Services. The award provides an incentive for young managers to aspire to great achievement in military MWR/Services early in their careers.

MCCS Lejeune-New River is fortunate to have leaders like Sarah working to ensure the well-being of military families and children. Congratulations Ms. Williams!
