MCB Camp Lejeune Rings in the Holidays with USAA Holiday Fest
Over 2,000 patrons joined MCCS Lejeune-New River to kick off the holiday season at the USAA Holiday Fest for a day of holiday music, activities, and the highly anticipated lighting of the tree.

Families enjoyed holiday music performed by the 2D Marine Division Band, dance performances, and local musical entertainment throughout the night. In addition, MCCS Lejeune-New River programs were on hand to provide information and assistance. "We're here to serve the military families, and we want to make sure we take advantage of every opportunity to not only give back but also interact with the families," said Chris Alger, Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Business Operations, MCCS MCIEAST.

The event brought extra cheer by giving away prizes to lucky attendees. Four patrons each won $100 gift cards courtesy of USAA's generosity. The grand prize winner received a $500 MCCS gift card, who exclaimed "We have never won anything before so we’re definitely excited!" The prize drawings added to the festive spirit of the event, allowing a few families to have an even merrier holiday season.

For the event finale, the crowd counted down as they waited for the switch to be thrown to illuminate the 24-foot tree. Cheers erupted, and you could see faces light up as the towering tree burst into a dazzling display of lights. The lighting of the tree was a moment of pure magic and wonder, marking the official start of the holiday season.

With its festive atmosphere, holiday entertainment, and visit from Santa, the USAA Holiday Fest spread holiday cheer as it welcomed in the holiday season. "We look forward to keeping these traditions alive for years to come. We are in our third year for this event; each year it gets bigger and better," said Rob Jones, MCCS Lejeune-New River Retail Director.

The USAA Holiday Fest was a magical celebration that set the stage for a joyful and memorable holiday season.
