Be sure to use our hashtags on your rocks #OBROCKS & #KINDNESSROCKS Keep in mind that even if you write this on the back of your rocks, only about 10% of rocks will get marked found. If you joined a local rock painting group on Facebook, leave the name of your group so the finder can post in the group that they found it.
Step 3 - SEAL your rock.
You have to plan for your rock to eventually be exposed to the weather. Sealing your rock will protect the artwork and make sure the art stays on the rock and doesn't end up on someone's hands. Most of the time, sealing rocks with a clear spray sealer is going to be your best bet.
Step 4 - HIDE your rock!
Popular places for hiding rocks include local parks, parking lots or outside business establishments.

Onslow Beach
Play on pristine sandy beaches caressed by clear seas. Spend your family vacation or weekend getaway at one of our various rental lodging units or at the RV Campground. Onslow Beach offers 3, 4, and 7 night rental housing options. During your stay, enjoy an array of exciting and fun activities for adults and children of all ages.
Onslow Beach also offers a Marine Mart (Convenience Store), pavilions with changing rooms, volleyball courts, basketball courts, guarded swimming areas (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and conference rooms ideal for any special event. Your dog is welcome at Onslow Beach! We offer a number of pet friendly units and a dog beach (located on the South end of the island) where you can spend quality time frolicking on the beach and surf with your furry family members. Just wanting to escape for a couple of hours? Onslow Beach is open to all authorized patrons and promises unforgettable fun for all!

Activities at Onslow Beach
Swimming
Guarded swimming areas are provided Memorial Day thru Labor Day from 9AM - 6PM daily. Please swim in guarded areas only. Swimming while under the influence of alcoholic beverages is NOT recommended. Swimming is not permitted from dusk until dawn. Violators will be banned from Onslow Beach.
Fishing
Love to fish? There is one Intracoastal Waterway fishing pier available for use and designated surf fishing areas. Don't have a fishing license? You may purchase one at the Onslow Beach Marine Mart or the Marine Corps Exchange. Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune offers a variety of fishing opportunities for the hobbyist angler. Ocean front, Inlet and fresh water areas are available for fishing. Information concerning these areas can be obtained from either the Gottschalk Marina at (910) 451-8307, or the Base Game Warden at (910) 451-2196. As of January 1, 2007, any individuals 16 years or older who want to recreationally fish in any water designated as coastal or joint waters of North Carolina must purchase a NC Coastal Recreational Fishing License (CRFL). A CRFL may be purchased at the Onslow Beach Marine Mart. Further information about fishing regulations may be obtained from the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission at www.ncwildlife.org.
Onslow Beach Fishing Access Road Closed, now through March 2025
As part of the Task Force Florence hurricane reconstruction projects, the dirt road north of the Onslow Beach Bridge on the Eastside of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway will be closed for repairs. This closure also includes the fishing pier on the island side of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, east of the bridge. The project is expected to be complete in March of 2025.

Pets
Pets staying in personal RV units, and Service Animals with proper ID cards are exempt from fees. Pets are only allowed at designated areas and must be on a leash (no longer than 10 ft.) at all times. You must clean up after your pet(s). Specifically excluded animals are any breeds in violation of the Base Aggressive Breeds List, ferrets, insects, snakes, and any exotic animal.
The Environmental Conservation Branch implements an integrated program for the protection of nesting turtles and shorebirds on Onslow Beach. This program includes trapping mammals that feed on eggs and hatchlings. For the safety of you and your pets, please keep pets on a leash, do not walk on or behind the dunes, and stay in designated pet areas while on the beach.Amenities

RV Space Regulations
Each space is only entitled to house one RV and two vehicles per space. Streets, driveways, and spaces should not house yachts, pontoons or boats, campers, sheds, tents, or unserviceable vehicles. A child shade tent is permissible. Boats and additional trailers shall be kept in the overflow parking area.
Each patron should be considerate of the overall appearance of the RV Park. Personal property must be capable of being stored within each patron's RV at any time. Personal items located on the outside of the guests' RV must be stored neatly under RV and should not be an excessive amount.
Non-RV household furniture, gymnasium exercise equipment, and animal cages are not permitted to be stored outside at any given time. Guests are not permitted to install permanent fences, outdoor appliances, tarps, or shading cloth. Mosquito netting is permitted.
Clotheslines are permitted to hang in the space of the gazebo, but please make sure to bring down towels once they are dry. Fire Pits, tiki torches, and contained fires are prohibited. Grilling is permitted, but shall not be done under any awnings or gazebos nor on any wood surfaces.
Propane tanks must be secured at all times to the RV or appropriate equipment. All propane tanks must be tightly secured to prevent leakage.

Campground Reservation Policy
Onslow Beach reservations can only be made by authorized patrons with a valid military or DoD ID card.
During our peak season (April 1 - October 31), RV & Tent patrons may stay up to a maximum of 30 days, based on availability. During our non-peak season (November 1 - March 31), RV & Tent patrons may stay an unlimited number of nights, based on availability.

Pet beach area starts at the Turtle Pavilion and extends east to the Training Beach South training area as well as Starfish Point Pavilion and extends west to the Training Beach North. (Both areas are unguarded beaches.) Any violation of pet rules could result in removal from the beach.

Pets are permitted inside designated Pet Friendly Lodging units for an additional fee. Pets may not be left in unattended vehicles or tied up outside any lodging unit. Specifically excluded animals are any breeds in violation of the Base Aggressive Breeds List, ferrets, insects, snakes, and any exotic animal. Please note pet owners found to have pets in non-authorized units must remove the pet immediately and will be charged a $250 per day fee for each day they were in violation.
All pets must be confined inside a pet carrier when left unattended. If at any time it is determined that a pet is not caged and left unattended in the unit, the guest will be asked to leave and will forfeit any fees paid for the unit.

Gazebo
Gazebo with grill, picnic tables and parking. The Gazebo is a large outside covered area with cement floor. It has picnic tables, grill, electrical hook ups, water and parking.

Pavilions
Three pavilions are located along Onslow Beach (Starfish Point, Sand Dollar Shores, and Turtle Trail). Each pavilion has showers, restrooms, and provides shade. The Starfish Point and Turtle Trail Pavilions offer a multi-purpose room for rent year round. Great for all types of social events
Units wishing to reserve Gazebos/Pavilions must do so through their MCCS coordinator.
